Off-The-Grid Hemp House for Family of Four

Designed by Brett at EcoLibrium, this off-the-grid house, for a family of four is humble, homely and beautiful to be in.

The internal and external walls are lined with Hemp Crete, a breathing, CO2 absorbing, thermal material that will enhance the living experience for its occupants for many years to come.

It was a baptism of fire when it came to applying the hemp crete to the walls, as it was done in a non-traditional form - spraying. Numerous upheavals meant that this process was very drawn out, which meant the clients moved into their home later than initially expected.

The home is full of beautiful colours and textures and is a testament to the ideology and ethos that was initially imagined.

“To the wonderful SEC construction team, we can’t thank you enough. Professional, friendly and exceptional service from conception to completion and beyond. From the beginning of our journey, we had hurdles. No matter what we threw at Scott and Phoebe, there was never a problem. Banking royal commissions, delaying finance, unprecedented fires, flooding rains, new building techniques and a worldwide pandemic, and you still delivered our dream home. Forever grateful.”
